Six-Day Deep Jungle Expedition

Explore the Wild, Respect the Forest, Learn the Jungle Way

Step into a truly meaningful adventure deep in the heart of the Sumatran rainforest—where nature leads the way and we follow with respect.

This six-day jungle expedition invites you to explore one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth while learning how to move gently through the wild. Designed for adventurous spirits with a love for nature, this trek is about connection, awareness, and conservation—not conquest.

As you journey deeper into the rainforest, you may encounter incredible wildlife living freely in their natural habitat, including wild orangutans, gibbons, and—if fortune allows—Sumatran elephants or even the elusive Sumatran tiger. Sightings are never guaranteed, but every encounter is a privilege, guided by patience and respect.

Walk beneath towering ancient trees, listen to birds calling through the canopy, and watch monkeys play overhead. Each evening, you’ll set up eco-friendly camps beside calm jungle rivers, falling asleep to the natural rhythm of the forest. Along the way, our experienced local guides will share traditional jungle knowledge—how to read the forest, move safely, and protect this fragile ecosystem.

With freshly prepared Indonesian meals to keep your energy up, every day brings new discoveries, deeper understanding, and a stronger bond with nature.

"This is more than a trek. It’s a journey of respect, learning, and leaving the jungle just as wild as you found it."

The Journey

Day One – Entering the Rainforest

Start: 8:30 AM

Your journey begins after breakfast. Step into the rainforest and begin trekking through lush forest trails, moving calmly and respectfully through wildlife territory. Along the way, you may encounter wild orangutans, gibbons, and various monkey species, while listening for hornbills and the magnificent Great Argus (Sumatran peacock).

Your guide will share deep knowledge about jungle plants, animal behavior, and traditional medicinal uses of forest plants. By afternoon, you’ll arrive at your first eco-campsite. Enjoy a freshly cooked jungle dinner and fall asleep to the natural soundtrack of the rainforest.

Walking time: approx. 5–6 hours

Day Two – Deeper Into the Wild

Today you trek 4–5 hours, continuing deeper into untouched rainforest. Wildlife sightings may include orangutans and black gibbons, always observed from a safe and respectful distance.

With luck, you may discover tiger tracks—a powerful reminder that this forest is truly wild. By late afternoon, arrive at camp beside the peaceful Landak River, where you can relax, swim, and enjoy dinner as the jungle settles into the night.

Day Three – Life Around the Lake

Today’s journey brings you to a natural mineral lake, a vital water source for many forest animals. From a quiet distance, observe wildlife as they come to drink, respecting their space and natural rhythms.

You’ll camp near the lake, spending the evening immersed in silence, reflection, and the sounds of nature.

Day Four – Wildlife Observation Camp

After breakfast, continue trekking toward the final campsite. Along the way, stay alert for more wildlife—Sumatran elephants may pass through this area.

You’ll arrive by late afternoon and remain at this campsite for two nights, allowing time for patient wildlife observation without disturbing the environment.

Day Five – Salt Lakes & Jungle Skills

Early in the morning, visit a nearby salt lake, where animals naturally gather. With respect and patience, you may observe signs of tigers or elephants.

After returning to camp for breakfast, choose to continue wildlife watching or learn traditional jungle skills, such as river fishing, guided by local knowledge passed down through generations.

Day Six – Flow Back to Civilization

Wake up to birdsong and flowing water, enjoy breakfast by the river, then begin your journey back in a gentle, eco-friendly way.

Float downstream on rubber tubes, guided by your jungle crew, returning peacefully to Bukit Lawang—bringing your adventure full circle.
