Get ready for the ultimate rainforest adventure: a five-day trek deep inside the Gunung Leuser National Park, one of the last places on Earth where Sumatran orangutans still live freely in the wild. This expedition takes you across rivers, through dense jungle, past hidden waterfalls, and into the untouched heart of the rainforest.
Every day offers a new discovery:
Each night, you’ll sleep at a different campsite, allowing you to fully experience the rhythm of the jungle. The adventure ends with a refreshing tube rafting ride down the Bohorok River—your famous “jungle taxi” back to Bukit Lawang.
This is not just a trek—it’s a lifetime achievement.
Your journey begins at 9:00 AM. After exploring local plantations, you’ll enter the National Park where the adventure comes alive. Spot Sumatran orangutans feeding or gracefully swinging through the canopy.
Enjoy a jungle-cooked lunch at a scenic viewpoint before searching for long-tailed macaques and monitor lizards. Arrive at your first riverside campsite by 4:00 PM for a refreshing swim and dinner.
Wake up in the heart of nature. Today’s trek takes about 7 hours total, moving further away from common trails.
Lunch will be served in a peaceful clearing. Arrive at your second campsite by a river or waterfall to enjoy the jungle soundtrack and stories around the campfire.
Trek for 4–6 hours deeper into the wilderness. This region is home to up to eight species of monkeys and rare birds like the great argus.
After dinner, you can join an **optional night trek** to spot nocturnal animals like civets, owls, and frogs rarely seen during the day.
Venture across small rivers and creeks through dense vegetation. Learn about medicinal plants and survival techniques used by local guides.
Spend your final night far from civilization, with another optional night walk if you're still energetic.
Enjoy your last jungle breakfast and a flexible trek adjusted to your comfort level. Finish with a fun tube rafting ride down the Bohorok River.
Arrive back in Bukit Lawang around 2:00–3:00 PM with unforgettable memories.
This trek requires good physical fitness, as it involves steep climbs, uneven terrain, long trekking distances, and river crossings.
